Fire Risk

We ask guests to read the Fire Risk Assessment and Fire Notice in the Helpful Information folder at the start of their stay please familiarise yourselves with the evacuation procedures at each property:

At all properties we advise keeping all bedroom doors closed at night, plus any corridor doors leading to bedrooms.  A closed door helps stop fire and smoke spreading which can help protect your escape route.

At Marris Cottage, for the purposes of Fire Risk we advise no adults sleep in the ‘inner room’ this is for the under 12’s only.  Please keep the door ajar at night so that it is in effect ‘one room’.

We are in the process of installing thumb turn locks in all the properties as per the new Fire Risk Guidance.  We are attempting to mitigate the possibility that children could open these in the night, however please be aware that guests are responsible for their children at all times.  This is particularly valid at Beach Cottage where the sea is within very close proximity.

Where there are open fires or wood burning stoves please keep fire lighters and kindling away from the fires.

At Marris Cottage please use the fireguard and at Little Walk Cottage and Beach Cottage please keep the wood burning stove doors closed when the fire is burning.

No candles, tea lights or ethanol burners are allowed at any of the properties.

Portable guest heaters and AC units must not be brought into the premises.  We can provide fans and plug in heaters in urgent circumstances.

No deep fat fryers are allowed at any of the properties.

No E-bikes and batteries are allowed in any of the properties.  Batteries must be charged outside and during the daytime. Please talk to us if you wish to bring an E-bike to any of the properties.

No trailing wires and please make sure your adaptors/chargers are reliably sourced and approved by the original manufacturer.
